Last week, the Vapur Team headed out to Salt Lake City, Utah for the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, ORSM, to promote hydration and talk gear with a bunch of outdoor enthusiasts.This motley crew included Vapur's hard working co-founders, David Czerwinski, Brent Reinke and Jason Carignan, National Sales Director, Ashley Doran, Marketing Manager, Jenny Guy (me!) and Creative Director, Frez Ferrino.ORSM started on August 1 with a Preview/Open Air Demo Day, including stand up paddle board and kayak demonstrations and... a Sierra Nevada beer tent! The day continued on with Brent and Ashley giving out 1L Vapur Elements to GOA members at the Grassroots Outdoor Alliance dinner, while Jason and I rubbed elbows with the writers and editors of sport and outdoor publications at a Speak EZ Media Suite hosted by Verde PR.Each day of the show, the Vapur Team handed out 1,000 Anti-Bottles to show-goers at the four Vapur-sponsored hydration stations in the Trade Hall and New Exhibitor Pavilion. Vapur partnered with Event Water Solutions to bring these stations to ORSM and to help cool attendees down in the Utah Summer heat. With lines of people waiting at these stations, the Team managed to blow through 1,000 bottles in about 30 minutes everyday of the show.To meet demand and to (do what Vapur loves to do) support a good cause, each day the Team also sold 1L Elements in the Vapur booth with all the funds going to the Conservation Alliance.Friday of ORSM, Vapur held a massive booth party made complete with the infamous DJ Knucklz and two kegs of FREE beer. Anti-Bottles were also given to all who showed up to get down with the Vapur Team.Needless to say, we had a great time! In 2009, Vapur set out to kick the disposable bottle habit and keep the world hydrated. With a calculated 23,270 disposable bottles saved from landfills that week, we did exactly that as the Mobile Hydration Sponsor at ORSM. Some of the highlights from OR week include: dinner with Verde PR, lunch with Polar Explorer Eric Larsen, chatting new products with partners, participating in the ORSM Ragnar Relay and talking with great buyers, media and our lovely outdoor reps!
