Great Concept, Poor Cap

Review by Ellie (on 10/17/13)

As a busy New Yorker, I carry everything I need for the day in a large bag-- this includes a water bottle. Traditional bottles are heavy and bulky, so I was looking for something more portable. Vapur is great because it can be rolled up when it's empty, but I really caution you against keeping the bottle when it has water in it (even if it's not full!) in any kind of bag. The snap cap isn't strong, and once it opens up there is no additional stopper for the water. So if something in your bag (or the bag itself, for that matter) rubs against the cap, you can say goodbye to your cell phone, work papers, and laptop.

I love this concept, but if the cap can't handle the commute of a New Yorker, I hardly feel like it could handle something more extreme like rock climbing or trail running.

Amazing but both of mine leaked.

This is the most useful water bottle I've ever owned. I took my first one on a 2 week camping trip through National & State Parks in Utah, Nevada, and California last May. I slept in a Brazilian hammock the entire trip and I loved that I could clip the water bottle to the ridgeline above me and have it literally hovering above my head while I slept. The nights were cold in the desert so I would wake up to a refreshingly cold bottle of water dangling in front of me each morning). One one freezing night I even boiled some water and slept with the water bottle pressed against my Femoral Artery which kept me warm until I was asleep. After one exhausting hike through Natural Bridges I even used the empty water bottle as a pillow to take a nap while waiting to be picked up. I also love that it can be rolled up to save pack space when empty (it fit in my pocket) and even be clipped outside of a pack when full. I accidentally dropped it climbing up a steep incline at Natural Arches and instead of rolling off into oblivion, it just slid several feet and stopped (unlike several other people's water bottles). I was so impressed by this water bottle!

Unfortunately, It started leaking on the very last day of my drip (it woke me up dripping on my face in the middle of the night). I ordered another when I got home but it also started leaking after several weeks. I blame the first one leaking on all I put it through on the trip (shouldn't have used it as a pillow), and I blame the second one leaking on the fact that I froze it almost every single night (to drink in the mornings). I was impressed at how well the cap sealed even after being frozen solid every night for several weeks.

The leaks were both up in the bottom where the side is folded into the bottom (which is the weakest part of the bottle) I'm going to hold off on ordering another until I can be sure my lifestyle won't break it

good bottle

Generally a good bottle. I hoped to use the bottle climbing as a water bottle to take up multipitch climbs. The plastic clip to hold the bottle is not robust enough to keep the bottle clipped to my harness when the bottle is dragged against the rock.

I wish the clip was made out of metal.

Manageable, colorful, and durable.

I love the product and so does the entire family. The product is amazing, durable, and I can put it anywhere because of the flexibility. I can get my ice cold water without the bottle cracking or expanding. I recommend the product to all of you.

It kept me warm & hydrated

Awesome product. I've had it more than a year & finally put it to test on my recent Everest Base Camp Trip last April. Filled it up with hot water at night & slipped it under my fleece before I tucked into my freezing sleeping bag.It kept me warm through out the sub-zero nights & also hydrated whenever I felt thirsty. Sadly after 2weeks journey the bottle leaked. Wish it could be fixed.

Awesome!

At first glance i thought it was a great idea and could be very useful to pack for any type of trip, so i bought it simply to try it out. After some usage I must say that i am in LOVE! I dont really much much of a complaint. It does not leak, easy to use, easy to clean, packable when not in use and attaches nicely to my hiking packs. Very cool VAPUR!!! :)

Stopper leaks

Review by Jeremy (on 3/28/13)

i like this water bag; light, compact, easy to drink out of. my only complaint is the stopper leaks when bottle tips over, not a complete seal.

Love it!

I have had the original Vapur bottles for years...and love them! I always longed for a larger capacity bottle to take to the gym (was taking 2 original bottles). Well, I received the Element as a Christmas gift from some dear friends (I had given them the original bottles a couple of years ago)! I love everything about it...size, secure top, attached carabiner. Still use my original bottles for road trips, etc. Love you, Vapur...you're awesome!

Great product until the rubber stopper in the flip top lid starts to mold

Review by mine1700 (on 2/21/13)

Rating:

This is a great product until the rubber stopper in the flip top lid starts to mold. Even though I clean my water bag everyday, and let it dry overnight , after about 7 months the rubber stopper began turning black from what looks like mold / mildew. No matter how much I soak it and / or scrub it, I can not get it clean. The mold has become embedded in the material, and the product has become useless.
